As I indicated above, PRCCUG is having a presentation on the importance of Virtualization to Cloud Computing. IBM is one of the leading vendors in the Cloud Computing arena. They indicate that "80% of the Fortune 500 use IBM cloud computing capabilities." They will be sponsoring our meeting. |

Speaker: | Kurt Acker, Technical Sales Specialist, IBM Kurt started IT work as an AIX/x86 blade center system administrator for a small school district before joining IBM's payroll department. After helping establish the on-line tools used to this day by that department Kurt accepted a service position supporting the z/VM hypervisor in 2000. Before becoming a new workload field technical sales specialist he represented the service team as a lead for the performance, component functional test and operations team. Accomplishments include an award for innovations that matter for the world with an idea called Desktop On-Demand, co-author of a Redguide called Cloud Computing and the Value of zEnterprise and a protected publication called Herding Virtual Raised Floors. |
