Welcome to the 2nd mailing of the June 2011 edition of Info-Cloud. In this edition, I am announcing the June meeting of the Puerto Rico Cloud Computing User Group (PRCCUG) which will be held as usual at BBVA Hato Rey. The theme will be "Local Cloud vs. Stateside Cloud: Pros and Cons". The two speakers will discuss the advantages and risks of having a cloud, first, one based here in Puerto Rico and the other based at a stateside vendor. Because of unexpected events the original theme was changed to this new one. It should be an interesting presentation and I hope you can attend.

In our next edition, I'll talk about the upcoming PRCCUG 1st International and Caribbean Cloud Expo to be held in San Juan in the spring of 2012. Stay tuned! If you wish to participate and be part of the organizing committee, let me know.

As I indicated above, PRCCUG is having a presentation on the pros and cons of contracting a Puerto Rico-based cloud vendor or a statesite based one. Two speakers will debate the issues: one will advocate a Puerto Rico-based cloud. The other will advocate a stateside-based cloud vendor. There should be some interesting discussions on the pros and cons of the different based cloud vendors.
