An important part of this newsletter is the identification of professional associations that provide training and seminars to information technology, governance, security, and other professionals in Puerto Rico. We will publish all activities and seminars of these associations so that each professional can select which seminar or training to attend for their own professional growth, as well as, the accumulation of Continuing Professional Credits for their certification requirements.

The IIBA Puerto Rico chapter is newest professional association in Puerto Rico. The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) was established in March 2004. The IIBA Puerto Rico chapter got its charter on April 11, 2011. This announcement invites you to the inaugural cermonies of the IIBA Puerto Rico chapter.  More information.

PMIPR is the Puerto Rico chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI). It was founded in 1998 and currently has over 300 members. It serves professionals that work or are interested in Project Management.   More information.

The Puerto Rico Cloud Compuiting (and Green Computing) User Group (PRCCUG) has the purpose of presenting the technologies, features, benefits, and risks of this relatively new technology. PRCCUG has as its audience, interested persons in government, as wellas, private enterprises. It is dedicateded to having stimulating discussions and presentation of cloud coputing and green computing in Puerto Rico.  More information

ISSA Puerto Rico is the local chapter of the Information Systems Security Association® (ISSA). ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for security professionals. It offers the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.   More information.

ISOCPR is the Puerto Rico Chapter of the Internet Society. It serves professionals interested in the use, evolution and open development of the Internet for the benefit of all people in Puerto Rico and throughout the World. Created in the United States in 1992, the Internet Society is a non-profit entity dedicated to safeguarding the best interests of the Internet as well as stimulate its use throughout the globe.  More information.

ISACA Puerto Rico is the local chapter of ISACA an internacional association that serves IT Governance professionals. The local chapter was established in 1984 and currently has approximately 270 members. They offer the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)certifications.   More information.

PRiMEX is a private non-profit organization, organized in 1986 through the initiative of Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO) and the Manufacturing Extension Partnersip (MEP), a program under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). As a part of a national network, PRiMEX supports the needs of all Puerto Rico's small and medium enterprises (SME's) by providing services to improve their business processes.   More information.
