Hola! We are approaching the end of the year and many associations have or are having their end-of-year conferences. Both PMI and ISSA Puerto Rico have had their yearly conferences. On December 3 and 4, 2010, ISACA will have theirs. The new Puerto Rico Cloud Computing (and Green Computing) User Group continues to grow. They had their first vendor session in October at IBM and the next one is on December 15 at HP Puerto Rico. Various government entities are providing training sessions as part of their efforts to mitigate the high unemployment levels. In addition to the PR Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC), I've included the "Compania de Comercio y Exportacion de Puerto Rico". It is a government corporation dedicated to the promotion of local entrepreneurs and small and medium businesses. They have various training and educational seminars for local entrepreneurs. I am also presenting the YEES! organization. It is dedicated to providing educational seminars and training to local entrepreneurs. Take your pick, attend the activities, and accumulate your CPE credits or improve your entrepreneurship knowledge and capabilities! An important part of this newsletter is the identification of professional associations that provide training and seminars to information technology, governance, security, and other professionals in Puerto Rico. We will publish all activities and seminars of these associations so that each professional can select which seminar or training to attend for their own professional growth, as well as, the accumulation of Continuing Professional Credits for their certification requirements. |

The Puerto Rico Cloud (and Green Computing) User Group (PRCCUG) is having its 2nd vendor presentation on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. HP Puerto Rico will be presenting their Cloud Computing initiatives. In this series of presentations, vendors will present and discuss their Cloud Computing services. The purpose of this presentation series is to present to our audience the technologies, features, and benefits of this relatively new technology. In future presentations, we will have Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and other vendors presenting and discussing their products. PRCCUG has as our audience, interested persons in government, as well as, private enterprises. We hope to have stimulating discussions and presentations of Cloud Computing and Green Computing in Puerto Rico. If you are interested in being part of this new group (PRCCUG), please contact me.
