An important part of this newsletter is the identification of professional associations that provide training and seminars to information technology, governance, security, and other professionals in Puerto Rico. We will publish all activities and seminars of these associations so that each professional can select which seminar or training to attend for their own professional growth, as well as, the accumulation of Continuing Professional Credits for their certification requirements.

ISOCPR is the Puerto Rico Chapter of the Internet Society. It serves professionals interested in the use, evolution and open development of the Internet for the benefit of all people in Puerto Rico and throughout the World. Created in the United States in 1992, the Internet Society is a non-profit entity dedicated to safeguarding the best interests of the Internet as well as stimulate its use throughout the globe.   More information.

InfraGard is a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) program that began in the Cleveland Field Office in 1996. It was a local effort to gain support from the information technology industry and academia for the FBI’s investigative efforts in the cyber arena. The Puerto Rico chapter has been active for various years. More information. To request membership go here.

ISACA Puerto Rico is the local chapter of ISACA an internacional association that serves IT Governance professionals. The local chapter was established in 1984 and currently has approximately 270 members. They offer the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certifications.  More information.

PMIPR is the Puerto Rico chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI). It was founded in 1998 and currently has over 300 members. It serves professionals that work or are interested in Project Management.   More information.

ISSA Puerto Rico is the local chapter of the Information Systems Security Association® (ISSA). ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for security professionals. It offers the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.   More information.

The “Colegio de CPA de Puerto Rico” was established by law in 1973. It serves all persons practicing public accounting are obligated to be members of the “Colegio”. It provides training and services to promote professional excellence.   More information.

As a part of a national network, PRiMEX supports the needs of all Puerto Rico's small and medium enterprises (SME's) by providing services to improve their business processes.    More information.
