Text Box: InfraGard is a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) program that began in the Cleveland Field Office in 1996. It was a local effort to gain support from the information technology industry and academia for the FBI’s investigative efforts in the cyber arena. The Puerto Rico chapter has been active for 1 year. More information. Request membership.   The FBI - San Juan office is setting up a "Working Group/Task Force" that will focus on Cyber Crimes against Financial Institutions. They are currently looking for IT personnel, Information Security Officers, and related personnel from Banks, Cooperatives, and other financial institutions to be part of the Task Force. Their mission will be to share intelligence, information, and alerts among them, concerning “hackers” and other Cyber criminals and their activities against financial institutions in Puerto Rico. The Board shall be a body corporate, operate as a nonprofit corporation, and have succession until dissolved by an Act of Congress.”  Go to the PCAOB website for more information.   Standards Section 103 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act directs the Board to establish auditing and related attestation, quality control, ethics, and independence standards and rules to be used by registered public accounting firms in the preparation and issuance of audit reports as required by the Act or the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Board’s Office of the Chief Auditor advises the Board on the establishment of such auditing and related professional practice standards. The Board also seeks advice from its Standing Advisory Group and ad hoc task forces and working groups. (More on Standards-Setting).   Auditing Standard No. 5 will be superseding Auditing Standard No. 2 - An Audit of Internal Control Over Financial Reporting That Is Integrated with an Audit of Financial Statements.  This Standard is good reading for all Governance and IT professionals.

Text Box: some way on technology, measurement, and standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.   NIST has an Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) to promote US competitiveness in information technology, mathematics, and statistics.  The ITL has a section called the Computer Security Resource Center (CSRC). Read their mission statement.  There is a lot of valuable information on their website for Governance, IT, and Computer Security professionals.
